Kid Connection operates at all Newton-Conover City Schools and Hickory City Public Schools.  

Before and After School Care

During the school year, the program operates from 6:00 a.m. until the start of school, then again from class dismissal until 6:00 p.m.  

On non-school days- teacher workdays, North Newton Elementary, and Viewmont Elementary Kid Connection programs are open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Conover School can be open on non-school days with reservations of 8. 

Children from all school districts and neighboring counties are invited to enroll and attend the Kid Connection program for non-school days. 

SummerKids --Summer Camp will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Viewmont and South Newton Elementary.  

REGISTRATION & ACTIVITY FEES

• $30 Before/After School Registration

• $25 Summer Activity Fee

KID CONNECTION WEEKLY RATES

• Before School Care: $35 per child

• After School Care: $60 per child

• Before and After School: $85 per child

  • Daily rates are also available

  • We no longer prorate for days closed or most Holidays

    • 50% fee for Thanksgiving week

    • No before or after-school tuition is due for Winter or Spring breaks

STUDENT WORKDAYS & WINTER/SPRING BREAK

• Full Day Care from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

• $27 per day for students enrolled in before and/or after school

• $32 per day for students not otherwise enrolled

  • Advance registration required

• $135 for per 5 day week of care for Winter & Spring Break

  • $32 a day, daily rate available during week-long breaks and summer.

ENROLLING YOUR CHILD

Our programs and staff are located in the gym or cafeteria areas of most school locations. You may register your child for Kid Connection during the before or after school hours at any site.  Enrollment forms can be printed under the parent resource section of this webpage

SUMMERKIDS

We operate day camps during the summer at schools in Newton and in Hickory. Our camps are open to all school-age children (through age 14) with weekly rates of $135. North Newton provides care through age 20 for special needs students. Each camp offers recreational and enrichment activities on and off-site. A daily rate of $32 a day is available
